Galway's greatest hits are to be heard at Galway City Museum this Saturday afternoon.

Galway City Museum will host an afternoon devoted exclusively to the songs that made Galway famous, in the company of artist in residence John Faulkner, the legendary singer-songwriter who has been living here for over 30 years.

John Faulkner, an authority on the history of traditional song and a noted exponent of the form, worked with great Galway music groups, including the Dolores Keane Band, Arcady and De Danann as well as previously running a legendary folk club in 60s London and singing with Ewan McColl.

John has broadcast and lectured widely on the song and the story. Now, for the first time in Galway City, he will be concentrating exclusively on local Galway songs and songs about our beloved city and county.

The afternoon's entertainment commences at 3pm in the City Museum, Flood Street, Galway. Admission is free and all are welcome.
