After a fun-filled full house earlier this year, Galway's own dadhouse deviants The Disconauts return to the Roisin Dubh on Saturday 14 August to host another special late night party. Featuring deckmonkeys Keith and Padraic on the ones and twos, there will also be live Latin percussion from Mark Logan and the sublime trumpet of Ben Edwards.
Disconauts' live shows are a rarity these days, as Ben and the other Disconaut horn players are busy recording and touring with the world's biggest names in pop and rock. Indeed, Ben's latest Galway appearance comes in the middle of his European tour with chart-topping Paolo Nutini.
Ben's playing has taken him the world over and, in recent years, he has performed live with the aforementioned Paolo Nutini, Basement Jaxx (he most recently played on their 2010 Australian and Japanese tour), Amy Winehouse, Dizzee Rascal, Kasabian, Jack Penate, Mika, Erasure, Mark Ronson, Hard Fi, Spiritualized, Raconteurs, Ray Lamontagne, the James Taylor Quartet and the Quantic Soul Orchestra while he has recorded with David Gray, Groove Armada, The Cribs, The Go! Team, Jimi Tenor and Estelle.
The Disconauts' live show has graced Ireland's biggest clubs and festivals down the years and their mix of the DJs craftsmanship, terrifyingly funky percussion and blistering horns gets the party started every time.
Expect a night of lowdown dirty house, sleazy disco and party anthems with musicianship of the highest quality guaranteed. Bring your dancin' shoes and a smile!
