Everyone has a story and Loose Lips offers a stage and a microphone to members of the audience who can tell their story, provided it is true, unscripted and doesn't take longer than five minutes.
The event is hosted by Mags Treanor with guests and each night is limited to ten stories.
Open mic events have become very popular in the city and although sessions have been previously hosted for budding comedians and poets, the difference with Loose Lips is that it is not a platform to discover up-and-coming writers or comedians, and it is not a competition.
Loose Lips is an evening where anybody can just come along and tell their story, whether it be tragic, heartrending or hilarious. If you wish to participate you can register on the night, when ten names will be pulled from a hat to decide who gets to tell their story.
The theme for this month's Loose Lips event is winners and losers so why not scrawl down some past competitive experiences (potato sack race on sports day is a good start) and see if you can make a masterpiece. Loose Lips will take place at the Roisin Dubh this Wednesday 28 July at 8pm and admission is €5.
