A few tickets still remain for Taibhdhearc na Gaillimhe's GAF production 'Eistigi… Caithfear Eisteacht!', which opened at Seanscoil Sailearna in Inverin on Tuesday night.
Directed by Mike P. O Conaola and written by Joe Steve O Neachtain, 'Eistigi… Caithfear Eisteacht!' is a celebration of the famous Irish language playwright, poet and author Mairtin O Cadhain. Based on his short story '1912' concerning the goings on around an 'American Wake', O Cadhain used his personal experiences of growing up to bring his characters to life.
The show is a multimedia event with film footage, recitation, acting performances as well as live music, song and dance. The strong cast includes Macdara O Fatharta, Joe Steve O Neachtain, Josie O Cualain, Diarmaid Mac an Adhastair, Eoin Mac Diarmada; TG4 presenter MairEad Ni Chuaig, Mairin Ui Neachtain, Brid Ni Churraoin, champion sean-nOs singer ROisin Elsafty and well known Connemara box player Paidi Breathnach.
