Kila founding member Ronan O Snodaigh will be supporting Brendan Perry from Dead Can Dance in the Roisin Dubh on Friday 28 May.

A founding member of Kila, Ronan is an accomplished poet in both Irish and English. He is recognised for his unique technique of playing the bodhran, which has often been likened to Africa's talking drums and the Indian tablas.

In addition to Kila, O Snodaigh has played and recorded with Dead Can Dance. His third solo album 'The Playdays' returns to his lyrical songwriting, similar to Tip Toe and is a collection of 11 very melodic, soulful songs.

The main performer for the evening Brendan Perry was half of one of the most successful and enduring acts in 4AD's history, Dead Can Dance. Two new songs were written especially for this tour, 'Babylon', an indictment of the US political war machine, and 'Crescent', a life-affirming ode to nature and the human spirit. Studio versions of these songs appear on Brendan's new album Ark, which was released in February. Brendan will be playing with a full band.

Tickets, priced at €25/€22.50, are available from www.roisindubh.net.
