Earthship play Monroe’s Live tomorrow (Thursday), when they launch their new logo and take revellers on a voyage of unchartered musical exploration. Earthship’s ongoing mission is to explore strange new soundscapes, to seek out new chords and new rhythms and to boldly go where no band has gone before.

Ship’s Engineer Krasniqi provides the propulsive power from his seat behind the drum kit. On bass, Weapons Officer Clews is in charge of low frequency audio bombardment, specifically calibrated to move your feet.

Ship’s Counsellor Collins offers soothing percussion vibes and cool sax melodies to bring you to audio nirvana and Captain Farrelly oversees and guides operations from his command post behind his mind-boggling array of keyboards.

The crew hail from Kosovo, Ireland and the UK and are all in-demand session musicians. Their music features echoes of the classic 70s fusion bands, such as Weather Report, the funk of Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters, and the restless experimentation and exploration of Miles Davis.

Doors open at 9pm and entry is €5. Tickets are available from Monroe's or on the door, or by contacting monroeslive This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
