Virtuoso composer and guitarist Juan Antonio Suarez 'Cano' and award-winning dancer and choreographer Concha Jareño return to Ireland later this month. Presented by Peña Flamenca El Indalo with the support of the Arts Council, the Instituto Cervantes Dublin and the Agencia Andaluza para el Desarrollo del Flamenco, this tour offers Irish audiences a unique opportunity to enjoy a level of flamenco artistry normally reserved for the stages of Spain and the more established international flamenco festivals.
The Spanish artists are returning to tour Ireland with a new production called 'Seis cuerdas para dos tacones' ('Six strings for two heels'), which they premiered to critical acclaim at the annual Flamenco Festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
"I am thrilled at the thought of Cano and Concha touring Ireland together for the first time. I have seen them perform at the most renowned flamenco festival in Andalucía and there are no words to describe the experience," said Director of Peña Flamenca El Indalo Nathalie Moyano Gonzalez.
"Their artistry will fill you with emotion and shake you to the core. I can't wait to bring them to audiences across Ireland in Peña Flamenca El Indalo's first tour."
The tour will also include workshops, with Concha Jareño hosting a dance workshop for beginners and improvers on Tuesday 31 August in Galway at Áras na nGael on Dominick Street from 7.30pm to 9pm. The workshop costs €25/€23 and enrolment is via www.flamencoindalo.com.
The guitar and dance performance 'Seis cuerdas para dos tacones' will take place in The Live Lounge at The Radisson Blu Hotel Wednesday 1 September at 8.30pm. Tickets cost €25/€22 and are available online from www.tickets.ie.
